Women’s tennis defeats Tennessee in SEC opener

The seventh-ranked Georgia women’s tennis team won its SEC opener, beating 57th-ranked Tennessee 6-1 Saturday afternoon at the Goodfriend Tennis Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The win marks the 15th consecutive SEC-opener that Georgia (7-1, 1-0) has won. With the loss, Tennessee falls to 2-5.

Georgia improves to 41-9 all-time against Tennessee.

Georgia returns home to face Ole Miss on Friday at 4 p.m. The match will be held at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
