Blog: Video: Things get heated in full pads UGA practice

Georgia put the full pads on for the first time this preseason on Tuesday afternoon.

What followed was a spirited show for some former lettermen, the media and those on the team.

Voices were raised. Players’ toughness was questioned. It was a grudge match between the offense and defense 3-on-3 style.

We have been warned again. No audio, please. This one would be R-rated.

Here, though, is the video up above.

Watch for flying bodies and players talking some smack.

Amarlo Herrera told Justin Scott-Wesley: “Get on your side! Get on your side! ”

After cornerback Shaq Jones held his own, former Bulldogs safety and now G.A. Kelin Johnson told the freshman: “Good job! That’s how you do it.”

As you can see, all the action can be fast-moving. Just know that bodies are colliding behind it all.

‚ÄúThat‚Äôs 2 to 1 ‚ÄòO’,‚Äù coach Mark Richt, in the middle of the action, let all know of the offense‚Äôs early edge.

It must have stayed that way because before the media left, defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt gathered his players and reminded them that that “90,000 are going to show up,” for the opener against Clemson.” He told them basically that they’re going to have to be ready to play by then.
