UGA’s Ondraschkova named academic All-American

Georgia track and field senior Lucie Ondraschkova has been named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-America Third Team, it was announced Thursday.

Ondraschkova, a native of Opava, Czech Republic, is the only member of the Southeastern Conference on the Third Team and one of six women selected to the three Academic All-America teams who hail from the SEC.

Ondraschkova advanced to her fourth consecutive NCAA Outdoor Championships in the heptathlon in June. She earned a First Team All-America certificate after taking seventh with a career-high score of 5,853. Indoors, Ondraschkova earned First Team All-America honors in the pentathlon with a fourth-place finish this year after bringing Second Team All-America honors back to Athens in 2011. She is one of only four student-athletes inducted into the Georgia’s Blue Key Honor Society. She posted a 3.88 GPA and is a finance major.
