The Georgia women’s basketball team has picked up a verbal commitment from a player rated as the top in-state prospect.
Crisp County power forward Nasheema Oliver selected Georgia over Florida, Miami and Louisville this week, according to the Cordele Dispatch.
She’s rated as the nation’s No. 58 overall prospect by ESPN.com and the No. 7 post player. Dan Olson of the Collegiate Girls Basketball Report ranks her as the top player in Georgia.
The 6-foot-2 Oliver averaged about 18 points and 10 rebounds last season. She’s expected to sign with Georgia in the early signing period in November.
Georgia also has verbal commitments from top-100 player Mackenzie Engram (6-2 forward) from Hillgrove High School, Jasmine Carter (5-7 guard) from Saint Pius X and Haley Clark (5-9 guard) from Edgewater, Fla.
