UGA Volleyball ends season with loss

Georgia’s volleyball team ended its season Wednesday with a 3-2 loss to Auburn at the Ramsey Student Center.

The Bulldogs finished the season with a 15-17 overall record and 6-14 mark in Southeastern Conference play.

Auburn won with set scores of 19-25, 25-22, 25-19,

25-27 and 15-4.

The match marked the end of the college careers of Georgia seniors Valentina Gonzalez and Simone May. Gonzalez tied for the team lead with 15 kills, while adding a match-best seven blocks, and May contributed a season-high 11 kills.

Junior middle hitter Ann Dylla also had 15 kills for Georgia.

Kathleen Luft had 12 kills and 14 digs and Kathleen Gates had 12 digs and 56 assists, earning her team-best 10th double-double this season.

Gonzalez concludes her career as the school record holder for career blocks assists with 424 and finished the season with a .395 hitting percentage, which ranks second in UGA history.
