Blog: UGA taps former Bulldogs player as men’s hoops operations coordinator

A former Georgia player is the men’s basketball program’s new operations coordinator.

Matt Bucklin, a walk-on guard for Georgia from 2008-12, was promoted after two seasons as a graduate assistant for the program under coach Mark Fox.

The Marietta, Ga., native replaces Byron Samuels, who served one season on the Georgia staff before being hired as head coach at Florida A&M. Jonas Hayes served as Georgia’s operations coordinator before becoming an assistant coach under Fox in June of 2013.

Bucklin first made the team through open tryouts in October of 2008.
