UGA softball’s Tess Sito named to USA Softball top 50 watch list

Senior Tess Sito has been named to the USA Softball Top 50 Watch List for the 2013 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year.

Sito joins student-athletes from 34 NCAA Division I universities and 12 athletic conferences.

Last season, Sito started all 62 games and earned a spot on the NFCA All-Region team. She returns for the 2013 season as one of the team’s leaders after hitting .305 with 45 runs, 61 hits, 35 RBI, nine doubles, two triples, eight home runs and 22 stolen bases in 2012. She finished second on the team in hits and third in batting average and ended the season on an 11-game hitting streak that began on April 15. She posted a career-high four hits with a run, two RBI, two doubles and a home run in a six-inning win over Kennesaw State.
