Georgia freshman Geri Ann Glasco has been named the Southeastern Conference Softball Freshman of the Week.
It is the first weekly softball award for a Bulldogs player this season.
The former Oconee County star went 7-for-11 (.636 BA) with three home runs, seven RBIs, four runs and two doubles, helping Georgia to a 3-0 weekend with wins over Campbell, Middle Tennessee State and Northwestern. She had multiple-hit games in each outing over the weekend and finished with a 1.545 slugging percentage and an on-base percentage of .667. She also extended her hitting streak to six games, has recorded a multiple base hit in each game during that span and has reached safely in each of Georgia’s eight games this season.
In addition to her offensive numbers, Glasco went 1-0 in the circle for the Bulldogs, totaling eight strikeouts, the most of any Bulldogs pitcher last weekend.
Georgia faces Colorado State and Oklahoma at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively, on Feb. 21 at Palm Springs Calif.
