Georgia is back on the practice field Friday for two more preseason practices.
The morning practice is being held under overcast skies.
Here’s some of what was gleaned during the seven minutes the media were permitted to view:
–Defensive lineman Chris Mayes wasn‚Äôt practicing today. He didn‚Äôt show up to interviews on Thursday, an indication of a possible injury.
–Inside linebacker Ramik Wilson is out for the fifth straight day after sustaining what a teammate indicated is a concussion. Also out: linebacker Ryne Rankin, receiver Charlie Hegedus and tight end Jordan Davis.
–Practicing in non-contact jerseys: receivers Justin Scott-Wesley (knee) and Chris Conley, cornerback Shattle Fenteng and tight end Jay Rome (foot).
You can check out Rome and the tight ends working with the quarterbacks in a drill in the video above. (Bonus coverage from the defensive field when the camera guy focused over there for a sec).
The defensive backs were working on a fumble recovery drill with plenty of voices of grad and quality control assistants chiming in. Defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt chewed out a veteran defensive back for not doing things right, but that’s not that unusual an occurrence.
