UGA men’s tennis team tops Tennessee

The No. 9 Georgia men’s tennis team defeated No. 8 Tennessee 4-1 in its Southeastern Conference opener Friday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

After winning the doubles point for the ninth time in 11 attempts this season, the Bulldogs (8-3) got singles victories from Marco Nunez (6-4, 6-1 at No. 6), Garrett Brasseaux (7-6 (7-3), 6-4 at No. 5) and Ben Wagland (7-6 (10-8), 6-4 at No. 2).

Georgia will host William & Mary at 2:30 p.m. Monday.
