KINGSTON SPRINGS, Tenn. — The No. 8 Georgia men’s golf team stands in second place after two rounds of the inaugural Dick’s Sporting Goods Collegiate Challenge Cup at The Golf Club of Tennessee.
On Friday, the Bulldogs shot an even-par 284 for a total of 10-under 558. Texas A&M leads at 11 under.
The tournament is pitting five SEC and five ACC teams against each other. The final round of stroke play will take place on Saturday morning, after which the winning team and medalist will be recognized. On Sunday, the top teams from the leagues will square off in an 18-hole match play event to determine the “Top Conference” honor.
On Friday, Joey Garber shot a 1-under 70, Nicholas Reach shot a 2-under 69, Michael Cromie shot a 3-over 74 and Lee McCoy shot an even-par 71. Mookie DeMoss shot a 5-over 76 for the Bulldogs’ non-counting score.
