UGA men’s golf places third at Augusta State Invitational

The 12th-ranked Georgia men’s golf team placed third on Sunday in the Augusta State Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club.

The Bulldogs fired a 2-under-par 286 on Sunday to wind up at 2-over 866. Team honors went to Texas at 1-under 863 and host Augusta State was second at 1-over 865.

Junior Keith Mitchell and freshman Lee McCoy paced the Bulldogs in the final round as each fired a 2-under 70. Senior T.J. Mitchell, junior Michael Cromie and sophomore Nicholas Reach all signed for a 1-over 73.

Keith Mitchell placed fifth at 3-under 213, four strokes behind Coastal Carolina’s Sebastian Soderberg. T.J. Mitchell came in eighth at 2-under 214, while Reach was 19th at 3-over 219, McCoy wound up at 4-over 220 and Cromie finished at 11-over 227.
