UGA hoops adds another nonconference opponent

Georgia has added another nonconference opponent to its men’s basketball schedule for the upcoming season and firmed up a date for another game.

Florida Atlantic will visit Stegeman Coliseum on Sunday Nov. 23, according to a contract obtained under an open records request. The Owls’ new coach is former Detroit Pistons coach and NBA player Michael Curry. The Conference USA program was 10-22 last season.

In addition, Georgia’s game against Colorado this season in Athens is now set for Sunday Dec. 7.

Georgia’s nonconference schedule also includes home games against Seton Hall and Mercer and road games at Georgia Tech and Kansas State. The Bulldogs will also play in the preseason NIT. That field also includes Minnesota, St. John’s and Gonzaga.
