Blog: UGA football practice. Ho-hum. Wrestling? `Woo, woo!’

Georgia football coach Mark Richt talked after Wednesday’s practice—the last physical one of the week—that “there was no drama as far as injuries, which is good.”

Then five minutes later, some hooting and hollering‚Äî‚ÄúWoo, woo!‚Äù–could be heard from the floor below in the Butts-Mehre building, where the team locker room is located.

“I think they’re wrestling down there,” Richt said. “When you hear that…somebody just got body slammed down there. I don’t know about the injury report. That may change as we speak. They have fun doing that so I hate to take that away from them. We need cameras in there just to see what really happens because they come out of there with some good stories.”

Remember that Richt’s college teammate at Miami was Larry Pfohl, who came to be known as Lex Luger, the WCW professional wrestler.

There was no word about which players were wrestling, but here are some matchups that might be worth seeing on pay-per-view:

–Nose guard division: ‚ÄòBig‚Äô John Jenkins vs. even bigger Kwame Geathers.

–Offensive guard battle royale: Kenarious Gates vs. Chris Burnette.

–Flyweight division: Carlton Thomas vs. Branden Smith.

–Brother tag-team division: Austin Long and Hunter Long vs. Zander Ogletree and Alec Ogletree.

Players not allowed to enter the ring due to fear of injury: Aaron Murray, Isaiah Crowell, Jarvis Jones, Brandon Boykin.
