Blog: UGA Day dates, locations set for Richt speaking tour

The Mark Richt spring speaking tour, known now as UGA Day, will kick off before Georgia is scheduled to hold its final spring football practice.

It begins on April 16 in Greenville, S.C., one of 12 stops in four states this year, according to a listing on the website of UGA Alumni Association, which hosts the event with the UGA Athletic Association.

The final stop is July 15 in Gwinnett County, which is the same week Richt will join other football coaches at SEC Media Days. Richt is scheduled to be in Hoover, Ala, on July 17, but difficulty securing a date at the Gwinnett Center later in the month was a factor.

The exact venues in each city, times and which coaches are appearing at each UGA Day isn’t yet listed.

Basketball coach Mark Fox joined Richt for several stops last season. UGA administrators also join the coaches.

There is no date in Atlanta this year. Then defensive coordinator Todd Grantham and Fox spoke in Buckhead last year.

Here are the dates and locations:
April 16 Greenville, S.C.
April 22 Gainesville, Ga.
April 24 Dalton
April 30 Orlando, Fla.
May 1 Savannah
May 12 Albany
May 13 Houston, Texas
May 14 Tifton
May 19 Augusta
May 21 Columbus
May 22 Macon
July 15 Gwinnett County
