Blog: UGA athletic adminstrator leaving for AD job

Georgia is set to lose one of its top young athletic administrators.

Josh Brooks, associate athletic director for internal operations, is expected to be announced as the new athletic director at Millsaps College, an NCAA Division III school in Jackson, Miss.

Athletic director Greg McGarity has called the 34-year old Brooks a “rising star in athletic administration.” Brooks, a Hammond, La., native, was a finalist last year for the AD job at Louisiana-Monroe.

Georgia promoted Brooks from director of football operations to assistant athletic director and then later to associate athletic director. Georgia was able to keep Brooks in 2011 when he talked to Florida State about becoming its director of football operations.

His role as associate athletic director included football scheduling, team travel and bowl operations and he was the point man for the concert by country music star Jason Aldean at Sanford Stadium last year.
