Blog: UGA adds nonconference hoops opponent

Georgia is putting the finishing touches on its men’s basketball schedule for the upcoming season.

The latest game added is on Jan. 3, 2015 at Stegeman Coliseum against Norfolk State from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, according to a contract obtained through an open records request.

Norfolk State returns seven players and has added seven newcomers to a team that went 19-15 last season and tied for third in its conference. The Virginia school is getting $92,000 for the game.

The Bulldogs nonconference schedule includes home games against Colorado and Seton Hall and road games against Georgia Tech and Kansas State. The Bulldogs also are playing in the preseason NIT.
