Tennessee completes sweep of Georgia softball

The Georgia softball team dropped a 6-1 decision to No. 6 Tennessee in the series finale on Sunday at Jack Turner Stadium.

Chelsea Wilkinson got the start for Georgia (27-13, 6-6 Southeastern Conference) and went three innings, giving up five runs on three hits and three walks to drop to 3-2 on the year.

She also struck out two batters. Geri Ann Glasco, a former Oconee County standout, came in as relief in the top of the fourth and threw the next two innings, allowing three runs on five hits and a walk. Morgan Montemayor did her job to keep the Bulldogs in the game throwing two scoreless innings and striking out three of the seven batters she faced.

Tennessee starter Ellen Renfroe went 6.1 innings in the circle to get win and move to 11-1 on the season.

Renfroe gave up one run on four hits and one walk and struck out six. Ivy Renfroe threw the final inning for the Lady Vols and did not give up a hit and struck out one.
