Blog: Taking stock of Georgia’s scholarship numbers (minus Harrow)

Reserve defensive back Quintavius Harrow from Columbus is no longer on the Georgia football team. His departure is said to be academically-related.

Georgia has not officially confirmed Harrow’s status with the team.

Georgia currently has 70 players on its roster who were recruited on scholarship, including defensive lineman signee John Atkins who could still be headed to prep school. The NCAA maximum allowed is 85.

Harrow is good friends with tailback Isaiah Crowell, who was dismissed from the team two weeks ago after being arrested on felony weapons charges. They were teammates at Carver High.

Harrow was recognized last season with a team newcomer of the year award for his play on special teams as a freshman. He had 10 tackles last season, including a punishing hit on a kickoff against Auburn.
