Several UGA players pushing through ‘nicks and bruises’ in fall camp

Several Georgia players are pushing through “some nicks and bruises and things of that nature,” Richt said after Friday’s morning practice.

That was about as detailed as he went as far as injuries players may be dealing with.

Asked about tight end Jordan Davis, who missed his third straight day with an undisclosed injury, Richt would only say: “He’s day to day.” He nodded his head when asked if Davis indeed had an injury.

“There’s some guys that may be missing a practice or two for whatever reason, but will be back soon,” Richt said in general.

Georgia has not offered much in injury information since preseason practices began.

Defensive lineman Chris Mayes wasn’t practicing Friday.

Inside linebacker Ramik Wilson was out for the fifth straight day while after sustaining what a teammate indicated is a concussion. Also out: linebacker Ryne Rankin and receiver Charlie Hegedus.

Practicing in non-contact jerseys were receivers Justin Scott-Wesley (knee) and Conley, cornerback Shattle Fenteng and tight end Jay Rome (foot).

“Right this minute we’ve got a No. 1 and No. 2 unit and a No. 3 unit,” Richt said. “I don’t know if we have a No. 4 unit anymore because of some bumps and bruises.”
