Offensive line coach Stacy Searels got a significant bump in annual compensation when he left Georgia last week for a similar job at Texas.
Searels will earn a total of $425,000, according to information obtained by the Athens Banner-Herald in an open records request. Searels made $290,000 in annual compensation at Georgia, not including an additional $19,400 this year in a bowl bonus that was written into his contract.
Searels’ base salary at Texas is $410,000 and he will earn an additional $10,000 for a “camp fee” and $5,000 for a “speaking fee.” He will have a one year-contract like he did at Georgia.
Only one Georgia assistant coach, defensive coordinator Todd Grantham, makes as much as Searels will at Texas. Grantham’s deal is worth $750,000 a year.
