Georgia officially named Tracy Rocker its defensive line coach on Tuesday, three days after his hiring was first reported.
Rocker is the 1988 Outland and Lombardi Award winner and was a two-time All-American at Auburn who has coached for 17 years in college and spent the past three years coaching the defensive line for the NFL’s Tennessee Titans.
“Tracy certainly has a name familiar to all who follow SEC football,” coach Mark Richt said in a statement. “He was one of the greatest defensive players in SEC history and has become one of the country’s outstanding defensive line coaches. He’s been at several very successful programs as a player and coach and we’re fortunate to have him joining our staff.”
Georgia still has one position it has yet to announce on its staff. New defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt is expected to coach the secondary and Kevin Sherrer to coach linebackers.
