Georgia freshmen Marshall Morgan and Collin Barber moved closer to nailing down the top kicker and punter jobs, respectively, with their scrimmage showing Wednesday at Sanford Stadium.
“Today gave me a better peace about them being where they are,” coach Mark Richt said. “I’m not going to name them starters yet.”
Richt said Barber’s punts were impressive. He averaged 49.5-yards on two punts.
Morgan booted his only field goal try during the scrimmage from 42 yards and made all his extra points.
Richt said that he went 6 of 8 in field goal attempts prior to the scrimmage, including a 52-yarder he converted. He missed from 42 and a short-range kick, Richt said.
