Richt expects three injured players to be full speed by June

Jay Rome is getting the screws taken out of his surgically repaired foot on Friday, the tight end tweeted.

Rome hasn’t practiced this spring after offseason surgery following an injury towards the end of last season.

Coach Mark Richt said on the G-Day TV broadcast on CSS that he expects Rome, wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell (leg) and tailback Keith Marshall (knee) to be ready well before August practices.

“There’s nothing to make us think they won’t be full speed by June,” he said.
