Richt calls for ‘red out’ for UGA’s game against LSU

Georgia coach Mark Richt shot down whispers of a blackout this week but urged fans on Wednesday morning to wear red to Saturday’s game.

A tweet from his Twitter account included this: “We are wearing Red jerseys Saturday. To show the unity of the DawgNation I’m asking everyone to wear Red!”

Richt said he couldn’t remember asking for fans to all wear red before.

“I think it’s a good thing,” Richt said. “We are wearing our red, our players are, and our fans traditionally wear red most of the time. I’d like to have it 100 percent. I think it would be a great sign of unity for our Bulldog Nation and I think if everybody buys in and then everybody gets to the stadium and sees that everybody’s bought in before we even kick off, I think it just adds a little energy to the day. I’d really like to see that.”
