Richt, Bulldogs get outfitted with new iPads

Mark Richt has been known to jot down some important notes on his hand.

The Georgia football coach joked in the past that was his palm pilot.

Now Richt and the Georgia players are relying on newer technology.

The team playbooks this preseason were distributed on iPads that each team member got.

“Matter of fact I brought mine in today to make sure I’m connected to the system, the new system that we have,” Richt said after Friday’s practice. “So when I go home — my wife will like this — I can watch practice film from home.”

Richt said players have been “begging” for more information to look at to check out before they go to bed.

“It’s a great system if it’s secure as everyone say it is,” he said. “It’s phenomenal.”

Richt said players would rather carry around the iPad than a “big old playbook.”

And yes even with an iPad, Richt, is still putting reminders on his hand.
