Georgia coach Mark Richt said he “would not count on” wide receiver Jonathon Rumph playing Saturday as he continues to be slowed by a pulled hamstring. “He has not been able to practice full speed.” The junior college transfer has yet to play this season. Tight end Jay Rome is “doing his best right now” trying to return from a sprained ankle sustained against North Texas. “If he had to play today, I think it would have been tough, but I think he’s got a chance,” Richt said. Receiver Justin Scott-Wesley (shoulder) was limited but is expected to play. Linebacker James DeLoach (concussion) remains out.
… The Georgia and LSU coaching staff will be wearing arm patches Saturday, along with other SEC coaches, to raise awareness of Duchenne muscular dystrophy, the most common fatal childhood genetic disorder, as part of the Coach to Cure MD week. The program has raised more than a $1 million in donations since 2008.
