Quick hits: Richt hopes to get kickers extra work in Dome; Murray ‘very sharp’ at practice

Georgia coach Mark Richt said he will check to see if kicker Marshall Morgan and punter Collin Barber, both freshmen, can get in early to the Georgia Dome on Friday before Georgia holds its open practice. “If those guys think that would benefit them and we could do it logistically, we might do that,” he said.

… Richt said quarterback Aaron Murray was “very sharp” in practice on Wednesday.

… Receiver Malcolm Mitchell (bruised shoulder) and cornerback Damian Swann (strained neck) practiced again in non-contact jerseys, but Richt said they will play. “They’ll both be fine,” he said. “We just didn’t want to irritate whatever was bothering them.

… If we played today, they both would have played. We just didn’t want to light it up at all.”

… Georgia practiced in misty conditions Tuesday and chilly weather on Wednesday. “Ideally, it would have been nice to have an indoor thing to practice in and crank the heat up a little bit to try get as close to what it would be in the game, but we don’t have that right now,” Richt said.

… CSS will produce and air a replay of Saturday’s game that will play at 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. on Sunday and multiple times in December. Matt Stewart, Buck Belue and Tyler Watts will be the broadcast crew.
