Quick hits: LB Carter ‘a stud;’ WRs Scott-Wesley in non-contact jersey

Tight end Arthur Lynch first called him Reggie Jackson on Thursday, but inside linebacker Reggie Carter has made an impression on him this spring. The freshman “is a stud,” Lynch said. “He’s gained like 18 pounds since he’s been there and the kid is like 18 years old.” Lynch said he expects Carter could have a “very productive year for us if he remains healthy and keeps doing what he’s doing.” … Kenarious Gates remains close friends with Georgia guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who is weighing whether to enter the NBA draft. “We’ve been talking about it, but I have no clue,” he said. … Georgia had not released the rosters for G-Day as of Thursday night. … Receiver Justin Scott-Wesley (chest contusion) and linebacker Ryne Rankin (sprained ankle) were in non-contact jerseys during Thursday’s cold practice in the rain. Receiver Chris Conley was in a regular jersey but was listed as having a hamstring strain. … Georgia players headed to the Athens Country Club after Thursday’s practice for the team’s lettermen’s club banquet.
