Quick hits: Freshman LB arrested, charged with DUI; Dogs going for 8th 10-win season under Richt

Freshman inside linebacker Matt Stagg was arrested on charges of DUI and underage possession or consumption of alcohol on Nov. 8, according to The Red & Black. Stagg, 18, has not played at all this season.

Georgia leads the all-time series with Georgia Southern 4-0 with every meeting in Athens. Georgia won the first meeting between the two schools 34-7 in 1992. In Georgia Southern’s most recent trip to Athens, the Bulldogs were ranked No. 1 in the country, then-freshman A.J. Green caught his first touchdown pass and Georgia won 45-21.

Georgia will be aiming for its 10th win of the season on Saturday. This would mark the 20th time in school history that the Bulldogs have had a 10-win season, and it would be the eighth time the Bulldogs have won 10 games in Mark Richt’s 12 seasons at the helm. The Bulldogs have not started 10-1 since 2002.
