Blog: Now hiring at UGA: ‘Director of Player Personnel’

Georgia’s got a new title for the football recruiting position that opened up when there was a parting of ways between Daryl Jones and the Bulldogs.

UGA is now hiring a Director of Player Personnel. Jones had the title Director of On-Campus Recruiting.

The new hire will be “responsible for the organization of the recruiting department and its day to day functions,” according to an ad posted on UGA’s employment web site. “They will work to support the vision of the Football Recruiting Coordinator.”

That would be Bryan McClendon, who was promoted to that position after signing day.

The hire will be expected to “implement the general strategic plan of the recruiting department as instructed by Recruiting Coordinator.”

Among the many duties for the gig is overseeing the organization of the walk-on program.
