The No. 4 Georgia softball team celebrated the dedication of Jack Turner Softball Stadium on Wednesday with a 6-1 victory over Kennesaw State.
Morgan Montemayer (19-3) carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning before allowing the Owls their only run on two hits. Montemayor also recorded seven strikeouts. Alison Owen pitched the last two innings in relief, giving up one hit and striking out two.
The Bulldogs (41-7) recorded six hits and were led by Ashley Razey (three hits, one RBI) and Megan Wiggins (one hit, two runs). Georgia scored one run in the first inning, one in the second, three in the third and one in the fourth.
Georgia returns to Southeastern Conference play this weekend with a three-game series at Auburn. The first game is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs are 14-6 in the SEC this spring.
