Naim Mustafaa knew he was on the way to committing to Georgia as he drove up Georgia Highway 316.
“I knew about this a few days ago,” he said. “I put a lot of thought into it. I knew I was going make my decision during this summer anyway. I ended up committing to Georgia today.”
The decision to do so pleased Georgia’s coaching staff.
“Coach Grantham was excited and told me he was excited to be able to coach me for the next few years,” Mustafaa said. “They were all excited. They said that I made their day. They told me they couldn’t wait for me to come play for them.”
Mustafaa’s commitment give Georgia 20 for 2013 – the second most in the country behind only Michigan. It also jumped the Bulldogs past Notre Dame, Texas A&M and Texas to the No. 2 spot in Scout.com’s national rankings.
“That’s 20 commitments for Georgia,” he confirmed. “All of the players who are committed … I know most all of them. Its good to know all of them are going to Georgia.”
Mustafaa said he was excited about playing in Grantham’s 3-4 scheme.
“They are going to have me at outside linebacker,” he said. “I like the way Coach Grantham plays his defense. I plan to rush the edge the way he has his outside linebackers rush the edge.”
