Blog: Murray not getting away from football during spring break

Aaron Murray won’t be spending spring break this year in Cancun or Key West.

Would you believe Norman, Okla.?

That’s where Murray will go to work with quarterback guru George Whitfield. The Georgia senior said he’ll be there from Saturday to the following Friday.

The California-based Whitfield has worked with Cam Newton, Andrew Luck, Johnny Manziel and is getting Oklahoma’s Landry Jones ready for the NFL draft. That’s why Murray will be in Norman. Oklahoma’s Pro Day is March 13.

Murray said he expects Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller to join him.

“We’re just going to train in the morning and the afternoon and Landry will train between us,” Murray said. “It should be fun. We’ll get a couple of two-a-days in, work with him, get to work with Braxton. I think that will be pretty cool.”

Murray said he’s had his share of “fun spring breaks,” but wants his “last go-round” to be about getting better for his final college season.

He said maybe he’ll pick up some new drills to show offensive coordinator Mike Bobo, but really is going “just to get some good work instead of laying on the beach and just chilling the whole time.”
