Magill: Strong openings for Green, Stafford

Former Georgia teammates Matthew Stafford and A.J. Green have had no problems finding the end zone in the first two weeks of the NFL season.

Stafford, the Detroit Lions starting quarterback, tossed four TD passes against the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday.

Cincinnati Bengals rookie receiver Green caught two touchdowns in his first two games. He had a TD pass in a win over the Denver Broncos and snagged another the previous week against the Cleveland Browns.

Stafford is in his third season with Detroit. At Georgia, he led the Bulldogs in passing three straight years (2006, seven TDs; 2007, 19 TDs; 2008, a school-record 25 TDs).

Green played at Georgia in 2008 and 2009. He made All-Southeastern Conference both years. He is a native of Summerville, S.C. He made Parade Magazine All-America, catching 14 TD passes his senior season.
