Blog: Johnny Manziel reps rapper Drake at SEC Media Days

Johnny Football did a lot of things in Hoover, Ala., other than just answer questions from media members and avoid being sucked into massive crowds as he waded through them from room to room and microphone to microphone.

He pulled himself out of Twitter hibernation to accept props from his non-football hero Drake.

And Johnny’s gotta talk to Drake. They’re pals.

The NWTS that Manziel added in his tweet is a nod to Drake’s next studio album — Nothing Was The Same — which is set to drop later this year as a follow up to 2011′s Take Care, which won the Grammy for Best Rap Album at this year’s ceremony.

And yeah, you did in fact spot an OVO owl lapel pin stuck on Manziel’s jacket. (OVO is Drake’s brand, standing for October’s Very Own. The Toronto rapper was born in the month of October, and the accompanying logo is an owl.)

Yes, it’s very tiny, but it’s there.

No worries, though. Manziel isn’t a Drake bandwagon fan.

The two have loosely associated each other for a while now, and Manziel is not bashful about his admiration for the rapper.

Manziel apparently went to the studio with Drake in Toronto in April before heading to Cabo for spring break. His instagram is very OVO heavy as well.

It’s a little bit shocking that Texas A&M folks let him don anything that wasn’t Aggie colors or gear. But then again, it is Johnny Football and he isn’t going to represent OVO whether compliance wants him to or not.
