KINGSTON SPRINGS, Tenn. — With the No. 8 Georgia men’s golf team’s victory Saturday in the inaugural Dick’s Sporting Goods Collegiate Challenge Cup, Bulldogs coach Chris Haack earned the 50th victory of his coaching career.
Now in his 18th season at Georgia, Haack has led the Bulldogs to at least one win in 15 years, including national titles in 1999 and 2005 and seven Southeastern Conference championships.
Georgia recorded a 10-under 274 on Saturday to finish at 20-under 832, five strokes ahead of Texas A&M. Joey Garber and Lee McCoy led the Bulldogs in the third round with 4-under 67s. Michael Cromie carded a 2-under 69, Mookie DeMoss shot an even-par 71 and Nicholas Reach fired a 7-over 78.
Garber finished second individually with a 9-under 204, seven shots behind Texas A&M’s Ben Cramer.
Georgia will face Clemson today in an SEC vs. ACC match play event.
