Gym Dogs match highest road score with victory over Missouri

COLUMBIA, Mo. — As Chelsea Davis and Shayla Worley tied career highs on bars and beam, respectively, the No. 8 Georgia gymnastics team recorded its highest road score of the season Friday, defeating Missouri 196.825-194.550 in a Southeastern Conference meet.

The Gym Dogs (6-5-1, 4-1-1 in the SEC) posted the highest score on all four events, with Davis earning a 9.95 on bars and Worley receiving a 9.95 on beam.

Davis, who is ranked first in the country on bars, has now won the event in all nine of Georgia’s meets this season and has scored a 9.9
or higher seven times.

Brittany Rogers also posted a career high on bars with
a 9.925, as the
Gym Dogs opened the meet with a
49.4 in the event. Rogers also
won her first career all-around with a 38.6, becoming the first Georgia gymnast to do so this
season.

On vault, Georgia recorded a 49.15, with Brandie Jay scoring a 9.9, her fourth consecutive vault of at least 9.9.

The Gym Dogs then earned a 49.125 on floor in the third rotation, with Noel Couch posted a team-leading 9.925 and earned her second floor crown in four meets.

Couch added a 9.85 on beam to complement Worley’s 9.95.

Georgia will travel to Baton Rouge, La., to face LSU on Friday.
