Georgia WR Conley fighting through injury

Georgia wide receiver Chris Conley gutted through a hurt ankle to return for Georgia on Saturday after missing the previous two games. He had two catches for 24 yards against Auburn.

“He wanted to play, he played well, he made some great catches but he did some great things blocking downfield as well and he was also a tremendous leader for us,” Georgia coach Mark Richt said.

Conley said after the game that “I feel like I’m good enough at this point to go. I’m not 100 percent, but I have enough to contribute.”

Tailback Todd Gurley, still not completely back from his own ankle injury, had 10 catches for 77 yards and also rushed 15 times for 79 yards with a touchdown.

“We know he’s not 100 percent, but he’s really gutting it out for the team and playing hard,” Richt said. “He’s a great motivator for his teammates.”
