The Southeastern Conference coaches selected Georgia to finish second behind Kentucky in the preseason poll released by the league on Tuesday.
Georgia had 149 points to edge Texas A&M (145) and Vanderbilt (143) for second place behind defending SEC champion Kentucky, which had 167 points.
Georgia also had three representatives on the coaches preseason All-SEC team. Senior forwards Anne Marie Armstrong and Jasmine Hassell were picked first-team all-conference and senior guard Jasmine James was selected second-team all-conference. Armstrong also received one vote for preseason player of the year.
The Lady Bulldogs begin the 2012-13 season on Sunday when they host Rutgers starting at 2 p.m. at Stegeman Coliseum.
