Blog: Georgia wideout Davis gets SEC honor

Reggie Davis went into the Georgia record books Saturday and was recognized on Monday by the Southeastern Conference.

The league named the wide receiver its freshman of the week for his showing in Saturday’s 45-21 win against North Texas.

The Tallahassee, Fla., native set a Georgia record for longest receiving touchdown on a 98-yard scoring play from Aaron Murray. He had two catches for 134 yards in the game. They were the first receptions of his college career.

The 98-yard score is the third longest touchdown catch in SEC history and the longest in the FBS this year.
