Georgia volleyball’s Eatmon named SEC Freshman of the Week

Georgia volleyball player Jasmine Eatmon was named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week on Monday.

Eatmon becomes the first Georgia volleyball player to be earn the honor since 2008 and is also the first Bulldog to earn a weekly honor since 2010.

Eatmon helped the Bulldogs to a 1-1 record last week in a pair of road matches against LSU and Tennessee. She finished with 14 kills and 12 blocks, including two solo stops last week, averaging 1.40 kills per set, 1.20 blocks per set and 2.45 points per set. She also led the team in solo blocks with three and was third on the team in total blocks with 12.

Georgia plays again at 7 p.m. Friday, when it hosts Auburn.
