Georgia volleyball team drops 3-1 decision to visiting Alabama

The Georgia volleyball team suffered a 3-1 (13-25, 25-18, 25-27, 17-25) loss to Alabama on Friday, Oct. 25 at the Ramsey Center.

With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 15-7 on the season that includes a 5-5 record in the Southeastern Conference. Alabama improve to 17-5 overall and 5-3 in league play.

Tirah Le’au and Brittany Northcutt led the Bulldogs offensively, registering 11 kills each. Stacey Smith hit at a .353 efficiency and finished with 10 kills. Lauren Teknipp added nine kills for Georgia. Kaylee Kehoe helped pace the offense, racking up 24 assists, while Maggie Baumert finished with 20 assists. Teknipp led the team six blocks, while Jasmine Eatmon continued to show her prowess at the net defensively, finishing with five blocks. Allison Summers recorded a match-high 18 digs.

Georgia returns to action on at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 27 when it hosts Mississippi State in the Ramsey Center.
