Georgia tailback Gurley remains day-to-day

It remains to be seen if Georgia star tailback Todd Gurley will be good to go Saturday, but Vanderbilt coach James Franklin said Monday he’s preparing as if Gurley will return from an ankle injury that kept him out the last two games.

“I think he’s a difference maker for them,” Franklin said. “He’s one of those guys when he’s playing, they feel like they can beat anybody. When he’s not in there, it has a factor for him. … We’ve still got to stop the same plays whether he’s in there or not. It’s just are you dealing with a 235-pound All-SEC running back?”

Gurley didn’t practice Monday, coach Mark Richt said his radio show.

“I’d be surprised if he can practice full-speed [Tuesday],” Richt said. “It truly is day to day. He’s getting closer. Can I sit here and say he’s going to play in the game? I really don’t know.”
