Georgia softball notches wins over ND State, Radford

On the first day of the fifth annual Bulldog Invitational, the No. 23 Georgia softball team relied on the long ball and strong pitching to claim victories over North Dakota State (4-1) and Radford (11-0 in five innings) on Friday.

Against North Dakota State, the Bulldogs (9-6) got a home run from Anna Swafford, who went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and got another RBI from Katie Browne.

Geri Ann Glasco (5-1) earned the victory in the circle, pitching five shutout innings and allowing three hits to go with eight strikeouts.

Glasco, Paige Wilson and Tess Sisto all hit home runs against Radford, which fell to 1-5. Wilson led the offense with two hits, two runs and five RBIs.

Sito claimed her first pitching victory of the season, going three innings and giving up two hits to go with six strikeouts.

Georgia will play today at 12:30 p.m. against Indiana State and 3:30 p.m. against North Dakota State.
