Georgia softball falls to Florida in SEC tournament semifinals

LEXINGTON, Ky. — A late inning rally fell short as the Georgia softball team dropped a 9-5 decision to Florida in the semifinals of the Southeastern Conference tournament.

Geri Ann Glasco got the start in the circle for the Bulldogs (38-19) and allowed four runs on three hits in 0.2 innings of work to take the loss and fall to 17-8 on the year.

The Bulldogs brought in Morgan Montemayor with two outs in the bottom of the first. Montemayor threw the final 5.1 innings and allowed five runs, only two of which were earned, on nine hits and three walks, while striking out five.

Georgia will find its NCAA Tournament fate today at 10 p.m. The selection show will air on ESPNU.
