Georgia QB Ramsey still soaking up offense

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Georgia freshman quarterback Brice Ramsey will be doing pretty much the same thing this week in practice: running the scout team and learning.

Ramsey, a four-star recruit from Camden County High School, is being redshirted this season. Coach Mark Richt said Ramsey will have to be patient and climb the steep ladder to be a starting quarterback for the Bulldogs.

“He throws the ball well. … We saw that in camp, Richt said. “He’s just learning what to do. During the season, it’s hard to get him a lot of reps, quality reps. The majority go to the guys who are going to be in the game.”

Richt said Ramsey has accepted the process.

“He’s done a lot of scout team work, but if you take the right attitude, you can actually get better on the scout team,” Richt said. “He’s done well. He’s just learning, trying to figure it out. We have a pretty strong learning curve at Georgia when you play quarterback. We put a lot on those guys.”
