Blog: Georgia spring practice report: Day 2

Georgia is practicing under sunny skies and temperatures near 70 Thursday afternoon as the team goes through its second workout of the spring.

Not tons to report from the 10-minute viewing time, which was actually less than that considering the reporters were asked to start heading for the exits with four minutes left on the clock.

So I didn’t get to view as much of the defense, which does their work the longest walk from the stairwell where we head in and out of practice.

Wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell, coming back from a torn ACL, wasn’t out there when we were there. He worked some of Tuesday’s practice in a non-contact jersey but didn’t finish.

Cornerback Reggie Wilkerson and tailback Keith Marshall, both coming back from torn ACLs, again were practicing in non-contact jerseys. Tight end Jay Rome (foot) isn’t practicing.

Same first-team offensive line as Tuesday except center David Andrews was back at center after missing some practice time due to a class. Tackle John Theus and guard Mark Beard are on the left side and tackle Kolton Houston and guard Brandon Kublanow are on the right side.

The top four safeties in one drill: Corey Moore, Quincy Mauger, Kennar Johnson and Tray Matthews. Damian Swann, Shaq Wiggins and Brendan Langley led the cornerback line.

The players who were arrested on Monday night practiced again: Matthews, James DeLoach, Jonathan Taylor and Uriah LeMay.

You can see some short video of the offense and the defense backs above. Again, no audio because Georgia has asked us to kill that off.
