Shaquille Fluker, a safety from East Mississippi Community College, committed to Georgia this
afternoon, giving the Bulldogs two commitments in two days and 26 overall
commitments for the class of 2013.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Fluker will provide immediate help next fall at a thin safety spot in 2013. The
Bulldogs will lose both Bacarri Rambo and Shawn Williams to graduation after
this fall. That duo has started together since the end of the 2010 season.
The Bulldogs beat out Ole Miss, Kansas and Nebraska to get Fluker. He joins Tray
Matthews, Paris Bostick and Quincy Mauger as safeties committed to the Bulldogs
for the upcoming class.
“I think things will work out well for me at Georgia,” Fluker said.
Because he is a junior college transfer, Fluker’s eligibility gives him the
opportunity to play two years of football in three years – meaning he has the
ability to redshirt.
