Georgia hit the lower FieldTurf practice fields for their Friday full pads practice this afternoon on a cool late afternoon.
Former NBA coach and current ESPN analyst Jeff Van Gundy was on hand along with men’s basketball coach Mark Fox. Van Gundy’s daughter is a student at UGA.
Fox is hosting his Suits & Sneakers fundraiser to fight cancer on Saturday at Stegeman Coliseum.
On to the practice videos. Here’s some footage (excuse the shakiness of it) of the offensive line:
And here are the inside linebackers getting after it:
Cornerback Sheldon Dawson, who’s dealt with a bruised knee, was in a non-contact jersey today. Safety Tray Matthews (shoulder and hamstring) was also in non-contact but seemed to be moving well in one DB drill I saw him jumping up for a ball.
Still no sign of safety Corey Moore (sprained knee).
Chris Conley (undisclosed) is practicing with the receivers. So is Rantavious Wooten, back in a non-contact jersey after missing practices with a strained hamstring. Freshman Reggie Davis (knee) and tight end Jay Rome (ankle) are also in non-contact.
I didn’t see offensive tackle Kenarious Gates, who Mark Richt said after practice was out with a strained neck. Mark Beard got some work in his place.
Inside linebacker Tim Kimbrough (knee) and tailback A.J. Turman (knee and ankle) also wasn’t out there.
John Theus worked at right tackle in an early drill with Chris Burnette at right guard, but later Theus was at right guard and Kolton Houston at right tackle.
In a seven-on-seven drill, the front seven for Georgia included Garrison Smith, John Taylor, Sterling Bailey, Jordan Jenkins, James DeLoach, Amarlo Herrera and Ramik Wilson.
